What are the “opportunities” to make money when prices are low to counter the money made when prices are high?
I said there are opportunities. Didn’t say anything about one year cash flow enhancing opportunities although I’m sure those more creative than me will find some. For cash flow on this year (and maybe the next year or two) it’s time to just muddle along and try not to go backwards much.
But if you kept making do with what you had during the good times instead of giving in to the temptation to upgrade then sometime over the course of the next year or so might be a pretty good time to set yourself up for the next 5 to 10 years. Lots of barely used equipment that you can still do the first scheduled oil change on that is on sale right now.
Might trickle into rental deals and land deals too if those with higher COP start to feel the burn some.
I don’t wish for these cycles to happen and I don’t wish for people to get hurt on the downside of them. But they do happen. Might as well recognize it and operate accordingly. |
