If I depended on buying corn locally I would try to lock in some prices sooner than later. However you play with those basis numbers, I would be playing them to rise into the next 9 months.

I have not seen ‘better than average’ corn anywhere locally. Drown out spots are bigger than average. Mostly tho the yellow areas are much bigger than normal and looking across the fields as you travel you see many imaginary hills, as the corn height varies so very much where it shouldn’t.

There are a few acres in each 80 where you can probably find a really nice patch of big ear potential. But no where enough to make a field look ‘average’.
