EC SoDak | It’s a complex system, so simple answers don’t work well. Basing a whole economy on tax credits? No, that won’t work. However, it can work as a big component of it. Ethanol is an example of how credits, requirements, etc can have a huge impact on an economy. So, long term, we know there is a high likelihood of increased production with advancements. So, we need to find ways to utilize those increases. We also have to realize this “green” movement is world wide and how to best position ourselves to take advantage of it. The government is going to spend like drunken sailors, history shows this. So whether we out in a pipeline or not, if it’s going to blow up, it will. But, it may not, and you shot yourself in the foot as a business person. Yes, it’s fun to sit around and say “eventually I’ll be right” but that doesn’t pay the bills with the timeframe we are talking about. | |
