EC SoDak | That’s part of the premise when you do what you can to eliminate your growth opportunities. If the ethanol industry is peaking capacity and there is demand for low carbon fuels, you’d see more plants going up, creating more demand, more demand creates higher basis levels and prices. These “green” initiatives are not solely happening in the US, so it could (and likely will) be a huge growth market. You can’t just ignore or write off that yes, governments set the mandates and act like it’s not a huge part of the deal we have to look at and just call it all a gimmick. Gimmick or not, these are the parameters we play in because of all the governments. If we, as American farmers, just want to take our ball and go home, so be it. But understand what that means. | |
