humblefarmer - 8/12/2024 08:29 How was demand in the 70’s? What was carry out? What was stocks to use? What was national yields?

Not the highest prices of the 1970s, or the glut of the mid-80s, but this is the three crops that led up to the first "Two Billion Bushel" ending stocks that everybody thinks is such a psychological surplus today.

1977-78   Production 6.505 B     Usage   6.207 B    Ending Stocks  1.232 B   Stocks/Use  19.85%

1978-79                      7.268 B                  6.995 B                             1.710 B                        24.45%

1979-80                      7.928 B                  7.605 B                              2.033 B                       26.73%
