I was just thinking about this the other day, and I'm gonna have to disagree at least on our operation. Now locally we had a phenomenal year in 06, actually a touch better than 04 IIRC. I remember a lot of 230-240 field averages in the area. Actually a couple farms in that list were lower in 19, 21, and 22 for sure, possibly 2020. I can remember one farm in particular picking somewhere around 240 bpa corn with a combine we traded partway through 2003. Can't remember what year exactly, but thinking 2002? Now I think our top end has gotten higher, but I don't think the average has increased since anything like it did in say the 10 years between 1996 and 2006. 1998 and 2008 might be even more of a contrast. Seems like every year between 2002 and 2008 was better than the last here save for 2005.

Grain producers are REALLY doing their part to bring down inflation.
