SE IL | Fringe acres aren’t necessarily a state or area, it’s the poor producing or high risk acres that weren’t farmed prior to the ethanol boom. Everyone has some I’m sure, I know we do. It’s the creek bottoms that flood out every other year the rough pasture ground that’s now row cropped because the cattle are gone. Eventually economics will force the least productive land out of production. | |
