Northwestern IL | It won't be this low tomorrow but I expect around 176 final yield. We're in the garden spot of northwestern IL and we have been going backwards fast. No rain in August and way too much rain in June and July. A lot of yellow corn around from nitrogen lost. Finding pollination issues, ears 14 around on ground that should be 220-230 bpa. Beans are turning brown on top in some earlier planted fields from disease pressure, SDS is starting to show up and the no rain is torching the sandier ground even though we've been in the 60's and 70's for high temperatures. Looked like a record coming in mid July, hoping for a average one now..
My January prediction is 176 corn and 47.5 beans. | |
