How come no one discusses loss at the bin site as in corn in dryer versus corn out of dryer. So that corn that yielded 240 out of the field and into the bin yielded what when you sold it? I'll wager it was not 240. Any corn loss at either point is not phantom, it is real.

I often wondered the same, but it doesn't seem to be real, we weigh every lb in and out, very little difference, and I attribute most of it to over drying. And off topic but most of the years we haul more lbs out of beans then in, but it's pretty easy to increase 10% beans blending with 14%.

I have measured phantom yield loss twice, scaled entire passes at 25-26%, and then came back and took the next pass over at around 18%. There was plenty of yield to pay for the drying, just really slow if you don't have a huge dryer.
