Central, IA | That is the big thing I have learned. It is way cheaper to dry corn in September when the ambient temp is 80 and the moisture is 27 then it is when the ambient is 50 and the moisture is low 20's. Even worse when it gets cold at night, it takes a lot of BTU's to warm up the grain to dry it.
I realize most of this may not pay as well in Mississippi.
In the upper midwest with winter always on the door step, I like to dry corn in september so we can tile in November. | |
