Subject: Solar power and big battery storage

Holland, Indiana (SW IN)
Not wanting to discuss "IF we should" looks like it's going on

This just posted on face book--company spending 1.3 billion in county next to where I live

"In addition to converting the coal units to natural gas , AES Indiana plans to construct new facilities for battery energy storage, capable of holding and delivering over 200 megawatts of battery and solar power"

is 200 megawatts of battery storage very much?
Has the battery storage advanced enough it's feasible?
Is battery storage close to being feasible for on farm energy uses?
I would love to tell our energy provider to take a flying leap --
solar panels are better and cheaper than years back

FWIW I hauled coal into this power plant between 1978-1980 (1972 Autocar with a 28' bucket)
Strip mine was 4 miles from the power plant :-)
-looks like it will be all natural gas now

Dan

Add I just reread the 200 Megawatts --possibly it means 200 MW solar production and "some" battery storage
