Southeast Washington | Chris you are a good guy. Our farm has always been Gleaner. The new T1 has some features that would really benefit our area.
What you need to hit Gleaner hard with though is we would have loved to try one in the hills where their enhancements could have really gotten a test. One did come to the area but had a failure of components that have been used for years. Us Gleaner owners were waiting for them to fix it and get it here. Mum is the word on it but not running. It may have been taken home. In the real world us farmers don't have a choice to wait till next year to try again. Let them know us farmers must get our crop off in a timely matter no matter what kind of mood we are in. If Gleaner can't get their own product fixed then how are us farmers supposed to get it fixed?
Let them know we are watching and as life long Gleaner owners we are extremely disappointed in their T1 combine that looked to be directed at our area and they pulled their opportunity.
We are looking to upgrade for next year and we have had two green and two red dealers approach us extremely hungry to sell. Gleaner doesn't seem to understand what the economy is and we have to survive as farmers too. Sure would have been nice but a red dealer delivered a demo yesterday to try Monday.
Our farm has been Gleaner for 60 years but the bottonline is we have to keep moving on even if Gleaner decides they don't. They may have made a major mistake if they couldn't replace components they have made for years. I have even had two Gleaner owners from Australia here for a week wanting to see the latest and the news travels fast around the world. Too bad the bean counters got in the way of development. Let them know we are watching in what to make our next investment in for a combine. If they don't care about their own product taking on the rigors of harvest why should we have to fight with them to keep their product running. Should be an interesting conversation for you. Thanks. | |
