Thank you Chris. I always hate getting caught by changes that are made at a serial number break. It has been missed by both sides of the counter and the end result is annoying. Much better to have a different model number for clarity come parts time because it sounds like there are many differences.

Trying to buy used not knowing the differences you're trying to avoid is confusing too. Take the R72 that had 3 different engines in them. Somebody comes on Ag Tslk and asks the question, I'm looking at buying an R72. Tell me the good and bad of one. Responses usually ask which engine? If the Duetz then stay away.

Exactly. The R5 series is similar as well, with 2 engine manufacturers, and 2 different hydraulic systems depending on model years.

The choice to move to the T1 series with these changes was the right move. Should there have been more changes made, maybe...but the Gleaner approach is, and always has been, change what you are certain is ready, and work into the next generation.
