Pick your room location. Be as close to the center as possible. Low/high and in the back/front equals exaggerated movement. Low means you will hear more mechanical and wave noise. Roll center is well above the waterline. Try to pick a room away from elevator as the drunks will be getting off when you are trying to sleep. I've always had a window and find seeing the weather more comfortable than not knowing.

Last time the room aft of us had a group of lesbians that liked to have loud, often violent, sex. You might get nauseous without getting motion sickness.

Drink water. Lots of folks get dehydrated and that doesn't help.

If you are in an inside room in the center of the ship it doesn’t move much. When you hit rough water you have a place to go with not much movement. If you are 70’ off the water and in the front or back of the ship you can move a lot as the ship moves.
