| Cyclops boss is life changing for me.
I have a hot wire with a ground wire below it.
6 ground rods where the water runs off my barn.
3 or so miles of fence that’s grown up in weeds and some trees.
The fence can go down for a couple weeks before some yearlings try it out.
There’s a few negatives though. It’s pretty hard to get cows to move through a hot wire gate. But I have loaded them before using a hot wire pen in a pinch.
The charger will blow a fuse if you get a short within a quarter mile.
It will ark across a standard porcelain insulator. Have to steal the big ones off telephone poles when they put new poles up.
I have another place with a zareba 6 joule setup same way with charger hooked to a barbed wire for ground and one rod. It has under a mile of clean fence and works really good also. But doesn’t take much to fry the zareba, parts are cheap though.
I’ve seen those kencove chargers with a remote, that would be handy, I wish they made a bigger one than they do. It makes life easy when it will stay hot with a short or a wire on the ground. | |
