Southwestern Minnesota | I just got back from an Alaskan cruise. I had some Dramamine along, but never used it. The ocean was pretty calm. Have been on two other cruises with choppier water and never needed it then either. But you never know how you are going to react until you try it. I have never had a problem with motion sickness until one time on a very fast and turbulent carnival ride. That was not a good feeling and I would not want to have that feeling on a long cruise. So I always bring some Dramamine just in case.
A travel agent one time advised us to choose rooms toward the middle of the ship and also not at the top levels to minimize the sway. I do try to do that too. Have fun- cruising is great!
