Power and fuel consumption in the 9895 and its little brothers is mostly due to the hydraulic rotor drive. John Keller said once that 42 extra hp was required to drive that rotor hydraulically and that might have been a little low.
I can believe that figure. One of the reasons we ran spreaders and spinners with no chopper on that series of machines. Full length rotor chews stuff up so well with the extra knives at the rear that you really didn’t need a chopper. |
