I’ve been running a 25’ 1020 grain head on a cih 2166. Can I handle a 25’ Draper head. Local dealer has a macdon 972 I may be interested in.

972 would be a rigid draper though where your 1020 is a flex. I say rigid lightly as it will lateral move a little on the adapter. If you are doing soybeans on anything but laser flat you wont be happy. We run the Case IH version of it, 1052, and bought a 1020 last year just for soybeans. Can you do soybeans with a 1052/972? Yes but its not much fun.

You'd need a 974/2062 to be a flex head.
