Fruita CO | Any engine that used the Roosamaster pencil injectors used the leak-off boots, other companies besides JD used them, Case for instance. Some boots were T-shaped rather than the straight ones...the pencil injector was a big improvement over the big old cast-iron Bosch ones.
I don't know what you mean by hard to change, I did about 1000 of them...take the line loose at both ends, slide the bottom clamps up to the top. Pry the whole set off the injectors. Lay it on the bench, or tailgate...slip all the clamps off. Pull the boots off, slip a new set on. Put the clamps all on the top end. Slip all the boots onto the injectors, careful not to bend the line. Move the bottom clamps into place. Connect the line at the pump & the return line to the tank...good to go...
Get a common set of hose clamp pliers...available anywhere tools are sold... | |
