I run 15-18# of alfalfa and 3-4# of orchard grass for the horse hay market, whatever doesn't hit the quality I need goes to feed our beef cattle.
I also like to buy the newest genetics of both because you really do get what you pay for and when you figure 16-20+ cuttings in the life of a stand its not that much more per crop to have good stuff compared to cheap crap.
