| I'm long out of the cattle business but still have a few acres of hay that gets baled and sold for either cattle or horses. I have 12 acres that needs to be put in hay and I'm considering the good 'ol alfalfa orchard grass combo. Fertility and ph is good to go. What is the suggested seeding rates for this mix? I have access to a brillion hay seeder and will use that for sowing. Is it suggested to use a leaf hopper resistant variety? Are there any other combinations that should be considered? I'm wanted something to get established and last several years. Thanks in advance for ideas. | |
