swmn | What Ben said, plus make sure the plate is in above top front feed roll otherwise kernels will come out above the shaft. (Plate covers the slot for the feed roll to move.). All of my choppers have had it in usually but 970 I had last year didn't.
I also installed the kooima feed roll lift on mine last year- don't know how much difference it made as chopper burned early in the earlage season.
I run feed rolls as fast as possible and let the processor do the work. | |
