But no, I believe in Iowa it is illegal. My dad lit up a pile at night but the neighbors saw it and panicked. They called the fire department and somehow the controlled burn message didn't get communicated so they came out and extinguished it, then chewed his butt and told him that was illegal. Basically they didn't call the DNR because you know, small town stuff. Fire chief is a neighbor.
Suffice it to say he felt pretty sheepish about the mess because and we don't do that anymore. | |
