Depends upon the application. Have seen grade 2,5, and 8 specified some with shoulder some with all thread. Baler seems to like to use a slightly different bolt so standard sizes are not quite right. I like to use what is specified and as stated look them up on messicks and have them shipped to your door. Another approach is walk into your dealer with a part number and order 10 or so of them.
