| Earlier this year I was waiting out a severe electrical storm. Couple of nearby hills have a history of strikes. Knew better than to walk out in the open but decided to go out on a patio when the lightning had subsided. All of a sudden there was a clap of thunder almost simultaneous as a lightning strike hit too close by. Went inside immediately and noticed the power was out in the house. Looked outside beyond the patio and saw a glow of light on the ground beside a pond. That strike also hit powerlines and transformers. It did enough damage that four power company trucks came out to assist with repairs in the same general location. Two of the largest bucket trucks were needed to complete replacement of fried parts. | |
