 East of Broken Bow | We had lightning strike a bin or very near a bin. Fried the breakers in the box, and welded the copper wire to the steel conduit in several places that led to the light. Split the conduit open a ways as well. Somewhere in the shop I still have a little piece of that conduit with the copper wires coming out both sides, but welded to the conduit in the middle. It didn't 'weld' it continually, but just spots here and there, presumably where the wire was close enough to the conduit to attach. In between the 'welds' the wire looked fine, the insulation wasn't even scorched. | |
