10 years ago I had a tractor take a direct hit.  It fried every computer and sensor on the machine but didn't damage a single wire or fuse.  The two way radio was missing its antenna but the radio still works to this day.  We got rid of the tractor a few years later and were told it could have internal damage that would show up later but I know for a fact the tractor is still running fine.
