Here, we just tore down an old farm house. Had a layer of asphalt shingles, vinyl siding and carpeting. Contractor that did it said as long as it was burned on site no problem. Can't haul it a mile away and burn. We burned in deep hole and there was very little smoke. Neighbor had the fire dept burn one down last year. Same type of house just standing. They started it at dusk. They never let it get hot enough, so there was a lot of smoke.
Anyway this is in my county, yours might be different. My county is pretty strict about stuff.
