| So i posted the other day about my holstein heifers, and was encouraged by the responses i had recieved, thank you! It had got me thinking later on about possibly feeding more animals at some point. Ive been researching for hours and reading old posts about putting a actual value to the feed. Im feeding a grain byproduct im sourcing fairly local, trucking it myself, and then mixing with another byproduct i source from an out of state plant. But i have trucks in the area frequently needing to come back so it works. Its a a very good fat source and i like the way it works in my ration. I really have been wanting to downsize my trucking operation and just have a farm truck, get rid of the commercial side of things. I feel like with adding a few more animals, possibly holsteins if this ground ends well. I would be able to do that. I am a huge numbers guy and run every possible option/outcome i can before i am satisfied. Lol. But anyway the first picture is the grain feed value results, and second is the fattier product im feeding. What would it be worth too you? I throw hay and a bit of molases with mineral in my tmr for them as well.
