I'm guessing the extra weight is from maybe a heavier frame, tires, planetaries or something else? Any guesses?

Yes, that’s correct. 600R series is rated for a larger dry box and up to a 1600gal tank. Everything is built heavier like you mentioned.

I've also been wondering about another weight question for a 616R deere sprayer. It is several thousand pounds heavier than the 612 but I'm not sure if that weight is coming from the larger tank or if the chassis is even a little more heavier built.

They are really pretty similar, not sure where you are getting your info from. Maybe you are looking at laden weight?

If you check out the dimensions on the tire manufacturers website you will find the Michelin VF420/95R50 is almost exactly the same width as the 380/105R50 in other brands but achieves more tire on the ground.

412R - 33,197lb
612R - 37,394lb
616R - 37,974lb
