Price of scope doesn't matter if mounted improperly.
Are you sure the scope was mounted stress free? What base and ring combo are you using? I'm a huge fan of Burris Signature Rings. They are self aligning with plastic inserts. Easy to mount scopes stress free with little to no marring of the finish.
We haven't been able to get a tight enough group with it to dial it in
It would help if you explained group size and shape and scope click movement.
When I'm working up loads, I don't care where the impact is. In fact, I don't want it messing up my aim point at all. If it's decently on the paper I leave the scope alone until I get the load I want.
