| Never gave ADA specs a thought, but when planning our new house I guess we pretty much ended up compliant. Love our walkout basement, would hate being on a slab. So much cooler down there, wide patio doors are great for moving big heavy items in/out. All the spare bedrooms are in basement, freed up considerable floor space on main level to make rooms bigger, more open. Installed drain tile around perimeter covered with pearock, and form-a-drain for the footers that goes to a sump pit. Zero water issues. No dampness whatsoever. . Zero entry garage is only way to go. Special trusses in garage allow for basically free storage, which I use a lot. I have a lot of hunting and fishing gear, and it’s all stored up there, along with my wife’s seasonal yard decorations.
