It worked for me till about 30 years of age. Then it caught up to me.
Insulin can be elevated for 20 years, keeping glucose under control, till insulin resistance gets bad enough and the pancreas can no longer keep up with enough insulin production to lower blood glucose. Some people are more susceptible than others (me), but no one is immune.

Best to let insulin be cyclical. Not high constantly. High constantly creates insulin resistance.
