Subject: RE: Individual sprayer nozzle control

As a rough idea, to break it down which AIM command version does what for section/etc:

1. 1999-2014 - Aim Command as primary offering. In later years, AIM COMMAND PRO (individual nozzle control, w/ turn comp) was an upgrade/option.

2014-2016 - More AimCommand PRO machines probably started going out than regular Aim Command (section pulsing, no turn comp)

2016/2017-2019 - Introduced Aim Command FLEX (using Raven Solenoid) - Default came with VIRTUAL sections (so even though plumbing was still on 7 sections, the sprayer/PWM computer would recognize virtual banks of nozzles. All in all, the smaller 'sections' were towards the outside wings, and as you got behind the center rack, the sections would be large, as they didn't vary too much from the sprayer travel speed for turn comp reasons). Aim Command FLEX also had turn comp built in based on the same virtual section format.

2017-2020 - Aim Command FLEX HD was an option - This was the individual nozzle control unlock. Instead of virtual 16 sections (or whatever it was), it was down to individual nozzle control with turn comp.

2021-NOW - AimCommand FLEX II is an option. Standard has full turn comp and individual nozzle control. Solenoids can pulse at 10/15/20Hz, and have more brains on the solenoid (prior to 2017 the solenoids were 'dumb solenoids' that were just ON/OFF controlled from the controller. After 2016, the solenoids had more 'smarts' for diagnostics/etc on themselves.

Overall, the Capstan system was solid. There were some 'off' years in ~2015-2016 that seemed to eat solenoids more heavily than other years. (Main thing to check was the resistance between the two pins, which would have been ~21-23ohms. if they were still there, it wasn't a solenoid coil issue. So don't toss them if they are fine).

With the Raven FLEX I system (FLEX, FLEX HD), seems like there was a few bad solenoid years in ~2017, but pretty solid since after 2018.

With Raven FLEX II, I don't see too many solenoids fail, which is a good sign too.

Anyways, that should give an idea of which years/systems were nozzle by nozzle or section controlled PWM.
