Fetv - 7/24/2024 16:36 Well I sure wouldn’t want to live in one of these. Would you? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gestation_crate

You might enjoy the security of a gestation crate if the other option was sharing a pen with a boss sow that steals your feed and picks on you 12 hours a day to the point that you abort fetuses that you can't carry to term because of loosing condition and stress.        Sows are not friendly to each other.

The average person, no matter if they're in California or Indiana, for practical purposes, knows nothing about raising hogs or producing Pork.

But its not what people don't know that is the problem.    Its what they "know", that isn't so, that is the problem.

This is a movement being pushed by people that don't actually care about how the animals are treated.   Their one and only goal is complete elimination of animal agriculture.    The goal posts are constantly moving in that direction.    Sadly, the majority of voters in California were duped by anti Agriculture groups.      Now they get to enjoy higher priced food for no good reason.
