Good idea but I would try and find stainless steel wool or a stainless steel wire wheel. When I used a steel wire wheel on a stainless stove pipe the steel wheel left traces of steel that rusted any place the wheel touched. In a few years the rust from the wheel rusted away and left the stainless looking good.
