The 7.3 is pretty amazing. Matched with the 10 speed automatic it can regularly get 14 mpg in regular driving in a 3/4 ton and I haven't run out of power with it yet when towing upwards of 17000 lb. It the first gasser I've had to hit the sweet spot between economy in regular driving and power for pulling. I have the old Triton 6.8L V10in another truck that rarely averaged better than 8 mpg, and it was an absolute dog when loaded.
Ford 6.8L v8. Anybody have any experience with one?
