Southern Illinois | Thanks for the help a month ago with trying to troubleshoot my bailer knotter. I wasn't able to come up with any solutions but did take pictures of the knots that it was having trouble tying. It really seems like it's all over the place, but my best guess is that the discs are out of time and I don't see how to adjust them on the old 46 knotter. We have a Blue ribbon service knotter book but I think it's for a 47 and it has adjustment nuts on it that don't exist on our knotter. I'm going to get a 46 book and see if that helps but wondered if these knots told you anything. They seem to be random from side to side and just when one starts working. The other one doesn't take long to fail. We sharpened the knives that it improved a bit, but I think they're just barely within spec because I don't believe the discs are rotated right, but I'm not sure how to rotate them. I'm also starting to wonder how much I should put into this old Baler versus buying something like a used New Holland 282. Wondering what cheap models might be out there that would be of larger capacity and better knotter quality. Definitely going to stay with twine though. tia
