No imports for me ever. There is literally not one thing better about them than a 3.8 Buick.
They cost as much
Parts are much higher
Some are crude
Lucky to even find a dealer in sparse population areas.
Their bodies are actually worse in many cases.
One Mercedes dealer in the whole state of ND.
3.8 will last as long as any foreign engine and get close to 30 mpg.

While I do agree with you comment about finding dealers in rural areas, I wonder what you consider an import? Anything other than Ford, GM and Chrysler products? I used to run GM vehicles but have gone to the so called "Foreign" cars due to repairs and reliability issues. The Nissan's and Hyundai's we have were built in Alabama, Tennessee or Mississippi. Would you consider them imports? How about the so called "Domestic" vehicles that are built in Mexico and Canada? Are they imports?

My point is the line between import and domestic is so blurred that I don't think it really exists anymore.

The 3.8 is a great engine but I don't think they are being put in many new vehicles anymore.
