Subject: RE: John Deere 6700 sprayer opinions wanted

Northern Illinois
I have a 6500, which would be similar. I upgraded all the boom plumbing and fittings to Teejet. I also replaced all the JD valves, and rate controller, to all Raven, and run it through my EZ Guide 500 w/ section control. I added a fresh water tank, that is tied into the pump so I can flush the booms. I also added a rinse ball in the tank to help when changing from corn chemicals to soybean chemicals. I spray 11-13 MPH on both Corn and Soybean ground, rides fine for me. Wish the tank was larger at times, but I can fill pretty quickly and get back to spraying. I can still spray more in a day than I could with a 1200 gallon 90ft pull type sprayer. They are a little loud in the cab if you keep it running wide open. I put some sound deadening material under the floor and under the fuel tank, it helped some. Overall its been a good machine, I have had no issues. I change the final drive oil yearly, as well as the external hydraulic filter. I change hydraulic oil every 500 hours along with the internal filter. They are reasonably priced and get the job done.
