If it's a cam less pickup like the vermeer than adjust the pitch of the baler with hitch adjustment. I'd say adjust it so the front of the baler comes down to close the gap. This Also wouldn't allow the pick up to down as far to make a gap for oats to fall in and wrap. Doesn't sound like a real fix but I've seen it work !!
