Are the brakes out at the final drives or are they inboard closer to the transmission (I know they were moved inboard for awhile, dont remember which model)? I prefer them out close to the final, as breaking those couplings and not having brakes, would scare me to death here. Can this new style final, be retrofitted back to the R72s (later model)?? Finals are getting hard to find here when ya break them.

What I know about the brakes on the IDEAL from the 2 training courses I've taken to get my feet wet, is there are inside the transmission. So, yes, still possible to break or strip a coupler I guess, but that is VERY rare in my experience.

Retrofitting the newer finals would be possible, but the shafts are shorter since you have no brakes out there. Would be possible, but not easy
