NWC Ohio | A true 28', or any single wing machine, will fold up with the wings over center, top tilited in twords center of machine, so a bit narrower on top in transport. Any size that has a double folding wings will only allow the inner wing to fold straight vertically. This is the main difference from what I've seen from running both styles of them. Transport width for mainframe is the same or similar just by looking at them for the size you mentioned. What your propsing to do should be simple and completely doable.
