| Fungicides don't kill spores, they prevent infection by blocking metabolic pathways in the fungus, or by preventing hyphal growth. If SWM structures are present anywhere, the plant is already infected with spores. Once you have WM infection in the plant you're done, there is no point in treating after the plant is infected. If a field has a history of SWM the beans are getting sprayed at R1 EVERY time, regardless of whether disease structures are seen. | |
