Camelina is a winter hardy brassica (i.e., relative of turnips, radishes, canola...) with very small seeds (~ 400k/lb).

The seed is ~ half the size of forage legumes like alfalfa but camelina is not a legume.

Winter camelina is generally very winter hardy but there are non-winter types and early planting and excessively high seeding rates reduce winter hardiness.
