Subject: RE: Tree Shear or saw

I have a Dymax 14" tree shear for skid steer. Dymax makes a lot of forestry products. However, they have recently sold the skid steer line to Maize manufacturing in Maize KS. I have had mine for over 20 years. IMHO, probably one of the heaviest built units available. I use mine less than 60 -80 hours
Per year. I talked to guys using 1000 hours each year. They thought dymax was best shear made.
Telehandlers don't work great on a shear. Have to, stop, put in neutral, rev engine to run shear, make cut, open shears, idle down, put in gear and move to next tree. Slow if I want to cut a lot of trees. They are great for cutting down and across ditches due to the reach.
