Subject: RE: Rotator cuff

" dangling arm" he was probably referring to a " frozen shoulder" which is actually like it sounds. I tore my rotator cuff in Aug of '16. Didn't go see the Dr until Dec, had to get through harvest mentality. Had surgery Jan '17. He said if I waited much longer I would have ended up with a frozen shoulder which would have required shoulder replacement.

I was in a sling / immobilizer for 7 weeks which during that time I slept in a recliner. I bought a wedgevpillow hopjng it would help me to sleep in bed but it didn't. Finally went several times es to a chiropractor before I was able to sleep in bed. During the seven weeks sleeping in the recli er I developed a blood clot behind a knee which I'm still on blood thinner for.

Dr sent a ice machine home with me which I used a lot. Would even sleep with it on. As others have said, stay a head of the pain, but be afraid of taking the pain meds, but try to save some back for therapy as you'll need them., was in therapy 4 1/2 months. Some of the most excruciating pain I've ever endured but was worth it in the end. PT said it would take a yr to completely recover & she was right. Last 6 months I have started getting little stabs of pain in my shoulder when I move it a certain way so probably need to go see the surgeon & find out what's up.
