Townsend, Montana		I would bet money it didn't drop - it just didn't have enough protrusion from the factory.

I have yet to go into a Deere engine with more than .002" liner protrusion.

Once set to at least .004", I have never seen a head gasket fail.

The old 8640/8650s are a prime example.
