NW Ohio, near Findlay | Watching all the posts on subject. At work we had 531 Deere motors in pans, overhauled about all of them. The machine shop always had to clean up the counterbores, was pitted and needed attention. Used the SS spacers and never had problems after that.
A question, the 3208 Cat was always called a throw away motor, they didn't have sleeves. But not a popular motor, why? Maybe because the bottom end wasn't known for long term mileage. | |
