I built John Deere engines for 40 years, & only saw one block that I can remember that had a liner protrusion problem, a 3010 that appeared to have shims in the counterbore in one cylinder from the factory.
Something is happening with quality control to have that much trouble lately...Pat's post below supports the theory that JD is deflecting, blaming "hard" liners.
